The Support Association of the German International School Accra (Förderverein) was founded in December 2024 by dedicated parents and staff members of the German International School Accra. The association is registered in Germany at the Stuttgart Registry Court under number VR 726942 and is officially recognized as a non-profit organization.

Its mission is to support the German International School Accra in fulfilling its educational mandate and to provide students with the best possible learning opportunities. Especially in times of increasingly limited public funding, our school greatly benefits from the commitment of its community.

Former parents, alumni, and past staff members are warmly invited to support the association — membership is entirely optional. You are very welcome to remain part of the GISA community even without joining the Support Association.

However, anyone who would like to contribute more actively or help enable specific projects is most welcome to become a member.

Projects

  • Purchase of playground equipment and learning materials
  • Social fund for students in need (e.g. meals, school materials, class trips, sponsorships)
  • Renovation and equipment of the school library
  • Funding of cultural activities (e.g. museum visits or readings)

I authorize the „Förderverein der Deutschen Internationalen Schule Accra e.V.“ to collect recurring payments from my account by direct debit on January 1st of each year. At the same time, I instruct my bank to redeem the direct debits drawn into my account by the „Förderverein der DISA e.V.“. Note: I can request a refund of the debited amount within 8 weeks, starting from the debit date. The conditions agreed with my bank apply.

If you join during the year, the entire annual fee is due when you submit the application of membership and will be collected promptly after joining.

The German International School Accra proudly looks back on 60 years of dynamic history. Founded in 1966 as the RMS Swiss School by the Swiss community in Ghana, the school has grown from a small family-style institution into an established bilingual international encounter school.

Today, guided by its mission “Building Bridges,” the German International School Accra stands for high-quality education, intercultural exchange, and individual support. Generations of students have shaped our school — and have been shaped by it in return.

The GISA Alumni Portal invites former students, parents, teachers, and friends of the school to stay connected, share memories, and actively contribute to the future of our school community.

Important note: After submitting the form, you will receive an email from the system with an activation link that you must click on. Once you have activated your account, it must be approved by an administrator. This two-step process and manual verification is designed to ensure that only alumni have access to the internal area.
